Pakistani athletes competing under WAPDA brought home six medals from the 10th South Asian Karate Championship, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, adding to the country’s growing medal tally in regional martial arts competitions this year.

According to reports, WAPDA athletes shone at the 10th South Asian Karate Championship, winning six medals for Pakistan at the five-day event held in Dhaka from July 15 to 19. The performance is being seen as a positive sign for Pakistan’s karate program, which has steadily built a competitive presence in South Asian regional events over recent years. 

WAPDA has long served as one of Pakistan’s primary institutional sponsors of competitive sports, providing athletes across various disciplines with training support and a pathway to represent the country internationally. Karate, in particular, has grown in popularity domestically, with more structured training programs emerging in recent years at both the club and institutional level.
