Weekly PK is a Pakistani digital news publication delivering factual, desk style coverage of the events shaping the country and the wider region. Based in Clifton, Karachi, we cover politics, economy, energy, technology, entertainment, sports, and regional affairs, with the goal of giving Pakistani readers a reliable, accessible source of news they can trust.

We operate as a lean, focused editorial team, prioritizing accuracy and clarity over volume. Rather than chasing every headline, we aim to cover the stories that matter most to our readers with the depth and context they deserve, in a tone modeled on established Pakistani journalism, closer to Dawn News than to sensationalized digital media.

Our Mission

Our mission is straightforward: report the news accurately, present it neutrally, and give readers the information they need to understand what is happening in Pakistan without editorializing or sensationalism. In a media landscape often crowded with opinion dressed up as news, we have deliberately built Weekly PK around a factual, desk style model. Our reporters and editors are trained to keep personal opinions out of news coverage, clearly label commentary when it is published, and let readers draw their own conclusions from the facts.

We believe that good journalism starts with good sourcing. Every article published on Weekly PK is grounded in verifiable information, whether that comes from official government statements, court records, law enforcement briefings, financial data, or established news organizations. Where facts are disputed or unconfirmed, we say so rather than presenting incomplete information as settled truth.

Our Coverage

Weekly PK’s coverage spans several core areas that reflect both the news cycle in Pakistan and the interests of our growing readership.

Politics and Governance form the backbone of our daily coverage, from national assembly proceedings and provincial developments to court rulings, elections, and the ongoing political dynamics across parties like PTI, PMLN, and PPP. We aim to report on political developments with the same neutral, fact first approach we apply everywhere else on the site.

Economy and Business coverage includes inflation trends, fuel prices, circular debt, and broader economic policy, alongside a growing data section featuring live gold rate tracking and cryptocurrency market updates for readers following financial markets in Pakistan.

Energy and Infrastructure reporting covers OGRA decisions, petroleum pricing, and the infrastructure developments affecting daily life across Pakistani cities.

Crime and Law coverage follows major cases through the Pakistani judicial system, from police investigations to court proceedings, with careful attention to accuracy given how quickly early reporting on active cases can change.

Entertainment and Culture rounds out our coverage, following developments in Pakistani television, film, and celebrity news, alongside features on business and technology figures shaping the country’s entrepreneurial landscape.

Our Approach to Journalism

We follow a set of clear editorial principles that guide everything we publish, outlined in full in our Editorial Policy. In short, we prioritize accuracy over speed, we separate news from opinion, we correct errors transparently when they occur, and we keep our editorial decisions independent of advertising relationships.

We also recognize that Weekly PK is a young publication, and building trust with readers takes time and consistency. We do not claim to be a large newsroom, and we are transparent about that. What we can offer is a small, dedicated editorial team applying the same standards a much larger outlet would, to every article we publish, whether it is a breaking news update or a longer feature.

Why We Started Weekly PK

Weekly PK was founded to fill a specific gap: a digital first Pakistani news source that treats accuracy and neutrality as non negotiable, rather than as a secondary concern behind traffic or engagement. Pakistan’s media landscape includes many strong, established outlets, but also a growing volume of digital content that prioritizes speed and virality over verification.

We wanted to build something different, a publication that Pakistani readers could rely on for straight, factual reporting, delivered quickly but not carelessly. As a digital native outlet, we are also able to move quickly on emerging stories, expand into new coverage areas like financial data tracking, and experiment with how Pakistani news is distributed and consumed, all while holding to the same editorial standards as more traditional publications.

How We Make Money

Weekly PK is supported through advertising and sponsored content, both of which are clearly separated from our editorial decision making. Advertisers have no influence over which stories we cover or how we report them. Any sponsored or promotional content published on the site is clearly labelled as such, so readers can always distinguish between our independent journalism and paid placements. Readers and brands interested in advertising with Weekly PK can find more information on our Advertise With Us page.

Corrections and Accountability

We take errors seriously. If a mistake appears in one of our articles, whether a factual error, an outdated figure, or a misattributed quote, we correct it as quickly as possible and note the correction directly within the article, along with the date it was made. We believe transparent corrections build trust rather than undermine it, and we would rather acknowledge a mistake openly than quietly edit it away. Our full approach to accuracy, sourcing, and corrections is detailed in our Editorial Policy.

Where We’re Headed

Weekly PK is still a young publication, and we are actively expanding, both in the range of topics we cover and in how readers can access our journalism. We are building out our financial data sections, growing our presence across search and social platforms, and working toward inclusion in services like Google News and Bing News, so that more readers across Pakistan and beyond can find our reporting.

As we grow, our commitment to the principles this page describes, accuracy, neutrality, transparency, and editorial independence, will remain the foundation of everything we publish. We see Weekly PK not as a finished product, but as a publication still building its readership and its reputation, one accurately reported story at a time.
